Hello!

I’m Julia Lara! I’m the third out of six children, I’m an artist, and I grew up watching my parents serve the Lord as missionaries or as pastors, and I’m super excited to grow my faith through the World Race.

So I’m 17, a senior, who lives in Washington state. Seventeen years is a little bit of a long time that you didn’t know me. I could try to explain my story by starting facts like I’ve moved four times, my favorite place that I lived was Seattle, I started working at Chick-fil-A at 14, and I’m a middle child who loves her family, making people smile, and getting creative. I could do that, but that only takes up one sentence! So what’s a story that gives you the essence of Julia Lara?

Okay, I lived in Arkansas, right? In Arkansas, you can get a job and driving permit at the age of 14. When I turned 14, I jumped at the chance to find a place that would hire me. My two older sisters were working at Chick-fil-A, so I happily joined them. So I was working there a couple of months, and one day, when the store was very slow, a man came in on the phone. When he gets up to the counter, he reaches his hand out and shows the number 5. Like the person I am, who thinks everyone deserves a high-five, I reached over the counter until our hinds finally touched to give him the most awkward high-five ever. After that interaction was over, he pulled his phone down and said, “I wanted the number 5.”

This interaction may have been awkward and embarrassing, but I enjoy it. If you’re working for the Lord full of his excitement and joy, you can spread smiles wherever you’re at. So I’m eager to travel the world with God-loving people and spread his joy.

Thanks for listening, and I’m excited to get to know you soon.
